Sweden's Asylum System 'Stuck in Stone Age'

The Swedish Migration Board has proposed changing the regulations for asylum seekers with Swedish families. Under the current system, asylum seekers denied asylum must return to their countries of origin to reapply for a residence permit even if they have children with Swedish nationals. "It's like the Stone Age for them to have to apply from home and be away from their child for up to a year when they have a right to be in Sweden because of their relation to the child," head of the Migration Board Dan Eliasson told Dagens Nyheter.
