The government announced plans on Thursday to examine whether Sweden should implement a special training program for imams. “Imams can have an important role in integration. Many visitors to mosques turn to their religious leaders with questions related to Swedish society,” said Minister for Higher Education and Research Lars Leijonborg in a statement.
